Itinerary & Details
Little Petra (also known as Siq al-Barid) is an archaeological site located just a short distance to the north of Petra in Jordan. Often considered a "mini-Petra," Little Petra shares many of the same architectural and cultural features as Petra, but it is smaller, less developed, and less crowded. It was likely used as a suburb or a rest stop for caravans traveling to and from Petra, playing an important role in the trade network of the ancient Nabatean Kingdom.
Al-Khazneh (Arabic for "The Treasury") is one of the most iconic and recognizable landmarks in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. It is considered one of the most stunning and well-preserved structures of Petra and is often the first monument visitors encounter after walking through the Siq, the narrow gorge leading into the city.
The Royal Tombs of Petra are a collection of grand, monumental tombs carved into the rock faces of the ancient city. These tombs were likely the burial places of Nabatean kings and high-ranking elites, serving as impressive displays of wealth, power, and the importance of the afterlife in Nabatean culture. They are among the most notable features of Petra and are situated near the city's central area, not far from the Street of Facades and the famous Al-Khazneh (The Treasury).

Day 1: From Amman to Petra and Little Petra.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Amman to Petra, where you will start your exploration of the Rose City.
Upon arriving at the Petra Visitor Center, you’ll enter through the awe-inspiring Siq, a narrow gorge that leads to the magnificent Treasury (Al-Khazneh).
As you stand before this iconic landmark, you’ll understand why Petra is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Continuing deeper into the site, you’ll explore the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and the Colonnaded Street, immersing yourself in the ancient Nabatean civilization.
After enjoying a delicious lunch, your adventure takes you to Little Petra, a smaller yet equally captivating archaeological site.
Known as Siq al-Barid, Little Petra offers a glimpse into the lives of the Nabateans, with intricately carved facades and unique rock-cut structures.
As the day winds down, you’ll check in at your accommodation.
Petra – The Monastery (Al-Deir) is one of the most iconic and impressive structures in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. It is a monumental rock-cut building, often referred to as "The Monastery" due to its size and grandeur, although its original purpose remains unclear.
The Garden Temple in Petra is a fascinating and somewhat lesser-known archaeological site within the ancient Nabatean city of Petra. Situated in the Wadi Musa valley, near the northern part of Petra, it is part of the larger archaeological area that highlights the advanced engineering and cultural practices of the Nabateans. Though not as famous or as frequently visited as other monuments like Al-Khazneh (The Treasury) or the Monastery, the Garden Temple still provides important insights into th

Day 2: Petra Exploration and Return to Amman.
The second day begins with breakfast at your accommodation before returning to Petra for more exploration.
You’ll hike to the Monastery (Al-Deir), a spectacular monument larger than the Treasury, perched high above the site.
The hike is well worth the effort, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
After marveling at the Monastery, you’ll visit lesser-known but equally fascinating locations, such as the High Place of Sacrifice, where you’ll find ancient altars and stunning views. Other sites include the Garden Temple and the Soldier’s Tomb, each with its own unique story to tell.
Following a leisurely lunch and some time to relax, you’ll bid farewell to Petra and begin your return journey to Amman, where the tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.
